New York – New York is a wonderful city! A vacation in a city that many have not lived through, by definition, can be exhilarating, active, exciting, very enjoyable and romantic. The “Big Apple”, the “City that never sleeps” – New York is a city of superlatives: the largest in America; it is the most exciting; its economic and cultural capitals; the trendsetter of the nation. The city seems to attract the best and the brightest from every corner of the country.

In my humble opinion, this city took a bad rap based on the news coming in from all the media 10 to 15 years ago. What some may consider the downsides of a city with a population of around 10,000,000, its crime, which affects both residents and visitors alike, saw a continuous dramatic reduction from 1993 to 2004 that has continued over the past few years. 5 years, resulting in part from a concerted effort by local authorities. A cleaner, brighter and safer New York is attracting people from all over the world who come to enjoy the city. The city is on a renaissance and can offer a vacation of attractions to explore such as history, trade and world politics not to mention tourist interests and sizzling nightlife. But let me not get ahead of myself. Here is a brief description of why New York City is an experience not to be missed.

Names like Madonna, Cher, Justin Timberlake, Chicago, Bob Dylan and Elton John frequent New York to play Broadway concerts and shows such as Momma Mia, The Lion King, West Side Story, Mary Poppins, Guys and Dolls, Chicago, Jersey Boys, Shrek the Musical, South Pacific and Hair are currently running in New York. If you prefer classical music, the New York Philharmonic, Boston City Orchertra and Chicago Symphony Orchestra come to New York to perform. Whether you like alternative rock, jazz, techno, heavy metal or country, you can find it here in this city.
